چکیده

We have used an updated version of the empirically and semi-empirically calibrated BaSeL library of synthetic stellar spectra of Lejeune et al. (1997, 1998) and Westera et al. (1999) to calculate synthetic photometry in the (UBV)J (RI)C JHKLL M, HST-WFPC2, Geneva, and Washington systems for the entire set of non-rotating Geneva stellar evolution models covering masses from 0.4– 0.8 to 120–150 M⊙ and metallicities Z=0.0004 (1/50 Z⊙) to 0.1 (5 Z⊙). The results are provided in a database 1 which includes all individual stellar tracks and the corresponding isochrones covering ages from 10 yr to 16–20 Gyr in time steps of ∆ log t = 0.05 dex. The database also includes a new grid of stellar tracks of very metal-poor stars (Z=0.0004) from 0.8 – 150 M⊙ calculated with the Geneva stellar evolution code.

Broad-band photometric evolution of star clusters

I briefly introduce a database of models that describe the evolution of star clusters in several broad-band photometric systems. Models are based on the latest Padova stellar evolutionary tracks – now including the α-enhanced case and improved AGB models – and a revised library of synthetic spectra from model atmospheres. As of today, we have revised isochrones in Johnson-Cousins-Glass, HST/WFP...

Modeling age and metallicity in globular clusters: a comparison of theoretical giant branch isochrones

In view of the important contributions of red giants to the integrated light in evolutionary synthesis calculations of old stellar populations in clusters and galaxies, we provide a comparison of theoretical isochrones computed from the Padova, Geneva, and Yale evolutionary tracks, respectively. Using the most recent version of the colorcalibrated library of theoretical stellar spectra by Lejeu...

Stellar Evolution Tracks, Isochrones, Luminosity Functions, and Synthetic Horizontal Branch Models

The ACS Survey of Galactic Globular Clusters, an HST Treasury Project, will deliver high quality, homogeneous photometry of 65 globular clusters. This paper introduces a new collection of stellar evolution tracks and isochrones suitable for analyzing the ACS Survey data. Stellar evolution models were computed at [Fe/H]= -2.5, -2.0, -1.5, -1.0, -0.5, and 0; [α/Fe]= -0.2, 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0....

Resolving Extragalactic Star Clusters with HST/ACS

With HST, colour-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) can be obtained for young star clusters well beyond the Local Group. Such data can help constrain cluster ages and metallicities, and also provide a reference against which intermediateand high mass stellar models can be compared. Here, CMDs are presented for two massive (> 105M⊙) clusters and compared with Padua and Geneva isochrones. The problem of t...

Evolutionary Stellar Population Synthesis at High Spectral Resolution: Optical Wavelengths

We present the single stellar population (SSP) synthesis results of our new synthetic stellar atmosphere models library with a spectral sampling of 0.3 Å, covering the wavelength range from 3000 Å to 7000 Å for a wide range of metallicities (twice solar, solar, half solar and 1/10 solar). The stellar library is composed of 1650 spectra computed with the latest improvements in stellar atmosphere...
